Glossary of Terms

Dates Available Between

Learning programmes offered by training providers are often flexible enough to allow a learner to commence training at various stages. We recommend you contact the training provider directly for more detail on dates you can join.

National Qualifications

Nearly all education and training purchased by the TEC is linked to nationally recognised qualifications. Learners are able to gain credits towards a wide range of National Certificate qualifications.

Provider

A provider is the contracted supplier of education and training courses to the TEC. The provider must meet quality measures set by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the TEC.

Trading As

This refers to the business name of the organisation.

Training Places

Training places indicate the number of trainees who may be in training, on that programme, at any one time.

Travel Costs

TEC will assist towards actual travel costs for learners. The maximum reimbursement for Training Opportunities learners is $60 per week ($12 per day), while the maximum for Youth Training learners is $65 per week ($13 per day).

Selecting Multiple Items

To select more than one item from a box hold down the control (Ctrl) key and left click with the mouse (Cmd + click for Mac users ). To unselect an item select it again using the same technique. Use this method to select items in a random order, one at a time.

You can also use Shift and left mouse button to multi-select. Click at the first item hold down shift and left mouse click on the last item to include. This selects all the items in between. To unselect click the left mouse button. This method selects sequential items in one hit.
